My experience as a CEO tells me that the key motivator is the Money…up to a certain level. Wonder what motivates me most? To interact with people. This is a blog. No interaction with people. I very much agree. How do you motivate the staff past that level?
Think of your colleague as a flower, a beautiful one. Place one person on the left side of the flower and one person on the left side of the flower. The person to the right hits the flower with a stick and the left person add water and nutrition on the flower. Who will make the flower grow?
Bring this mindset into your business and ask yourself what you should do in different situations. Eg. Commission – left person or right person. Does it really motivate you colleague?
